How to price a manicure
A price needs to cover materials, time and studio expenses. Use your own figures: this example explains a method, not a market benchmark.
Materials and time
Divide the container cost by the actual number of uses. A €12 container used for 30 services costs €0.40 per service. Add other supplies and observed wastage. Include preparation, cleaning and the necessary gap: a 50-minute manicure may occupy a 60-minute appointment.
Hours you can bill
Not every opening hour earns income. Allow for breaks, administration and unbooked gaps. With 84 billable hours, €504 of fixed expenses and €1,260 of target pay, the hourly allocation is €6 for expenses and €15 for your pay.
Example price per service
For a 60-minute appointment: €4 materials + €6 expenses + €15 pay = €25 cost. With an additional margin of 20%, excluding taxes and payment fees: 25 ÷ (1 − 0.20) = €31.25. The difference is €6.25. A 20% markup gives €30, which is different.
Extras, taxes and reviews
Price removal, decoration and extensions using their own materials and minutes. The free calculator gives a result before taxes and payment fees; the kit lets you configure them. Check how your payment provider charges. Review figures when costs, duration or occupancy change and communicate the full price before starting.
Comparisons with other studios do not replace your own costs. The result does not predict bookings or guarantee profit.
